1. Update column 2 (student responses) and column 3 (teacher supports) based on brainstorming in class.
2. Attempt to complete column 4 (methods of evaluation). What information would you gather from students in order to assess if students are understanding the goals of the lesson?

change to single video???
preservice teachers were asked to view the pre-assessment video a second time, immediately following the class in which the pre-assessment was administered. After watching this video again, preservice teachers were asked to submit a short paper (one page, single-spaced) describing what they noticed while watching the video the second time that they did not notice (or pay attention to) in the first viewing. We refer to this paper as the ''second viewing paper.''
An additional assignment that students completed at the end of the semester is referred to as the ''formal observation paper.'' In this paper, students were asked to formally observe one mathematics class in their field placement and then to write a paper describing, with as much richness and depth as possible, all that happened in the one class period.
